Community Engagement
Cultural Fixtures was established in 2021 to oversee privately donated gifts and in-kind donations for Cultured Remedy. Cultural Fixtures is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that a Board of Directors governs. The organization is designed to provide health education, training, and resources to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in community settings. We are working to ensure that BIPOC health consumers receive evidence-based and culturally relevant training and resources to increase their ability to make wise healthcare decisions and fully engage in their healthcare experience. Health literacy and numeracy are top priorities! Thus, we strive to close these knowledge gaps.
We aim to educate the BIPOC community on health issues affecting our community most, and we do this through various outreach programs:
- Disease Prevention and Promotion Seminars
- Disease Self-Management Workshops
- Church-Based Education on Health Issues
- Salon & Barbershop Training on Health Concerns
- Community-Based Health Fairs
- Assisting Community Leaders with Legislative Health Advocacy
- Connecting BIPOC Health Consumers to Community Services
- Developing & Sharing Culturally Relevant Health Materials
So many activities are in motion to lessen healthcare delivery, quality, and access disparities producing health inequities. Your support is always appreciated and can serve as your legacy! Please consider donating today.
